Vietnam is an ideal destination for German firms

Chambers of commerce and industry of Nürnberg city (IHK), Bavaria, Germany, recently held Economic Forum, the Asia-Pacific 12th with the participation of nearly 200 businesses in Germany and the Asia countries Pacific, of which Vietnam was invited as a key partner.
Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Berlin said the forum was held on 23/7 at the Center for fairs and exhibition of Nürnberg.
In the opening speech on the theme "Identifying trends - Connecting Globally - Act responsibly," Ambassador of Vietnam in Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh stressed Vietnam and Germany this year will mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with a series of meaningful activities.
Following the success of the Economic Forum, the Asia-Pacific of German Business (APK) in Ho Chi Minh City in May 11, 2014, Vietnam has been chosen as the main partner of the Forum of Asia-Pacific Ocean at this time in Berlin and Bavaria in general, cities and the Middle Franken Nürnberg in particular.
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh said that this does not only speak of comprehensively strategic partnership between the two countries, but also affirm that Vietnam is a reliable market and an ideal destination for investors, also as German firms.
Ambassador Nguyen also stressed the Government of Vietnam has strong measures to improve the investment environment, local business and create the legal framework of transparency with investors and foreign enterprises, simplify administrative procedures, reduce paper documentation and resolution period of business records. This is what German business at the Forum recognized and appreciated.
At a press conference after the opening session, as answering questions about the status of Vietnam in comparison with other countries in the region and what makes Vietnam a charm to German firms, Ambassador Nguyen and representatives of German firms operating successfully in Vietnam stressed that political stability; legal systems and administrative procedures increasingly improved; young workforce, curiosity, well-trained and desire to work in industrial environments; Germany and Vietnam having established strategic partnership framework since 2011; Agreement on the Trans-Pacific partnership (TPP) is about to be signed and the ASEAN Economic Community to be set up later this year ... are the main factors making Vietnam become a gateway for businesses to penetrate Germany further into the huge market in Asia-Pacific.
Besides, another factor also makes a difference in Vietnam compared with other countries in the region is over 100,000 people in Vietnam that can speak German and understand German culture, as well as about 125,000 Vietnam living and working in Germany. This really is the bridge of friendship between the two peoples and also a factor helping German firms to be more successful in Vietnam.
