Philippines invited the President to attend the APEC Summit Week

            On morning July 22th at the office of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Bui Thanh Son met Mr. Jerril G.Santos, the special Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines in Vietnam, received the invitation of President Benigno Aquino III for The State President Truong Tan Sang to attend the APEC Summit Week in Philippines in May 11/2015.
 
At the meeting, Ambassador Jerril G.Santos reported the main activities taking place during the APEC Summit Week in 2015 and said President Benigno Aquino wants President Truong Tan Sang and high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to participate actively in these activities.
 
Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Minister thanked the Ambassador and appreciated the role of the Philippines in the APEC Year 2015 and affirmed the Foreign Ministry will forward the invitation to President Truong Tan Sang.
 
Deputy Bui Thanh Son shared topics and priority proposed by the Philippines in APEC, while confirming Vietnam will coordinate closely with the Philippines to ensure the successful 2015 APEC Year.
 
The Deputy Minister gave information on Vietnam's preparations for hosting the APEC Year 2017, especially the establishment of the National Committee for APEC 2017 in the last 21/7 days.
 
Based on the good bilateral relations, The Deputy Minister wanted the two sides to strengthen cooperation in areas of common concern and suggested the Philippines to share experiences and support Vietnam in preparation for the APEC Year 2017.
 
In addition, the two sides also mentioned several areas of bilateral cooperation, including the early establishment of the strategic partnership in the future. /.
