Long Phu 1 project kicking off

Long Phu 1 Power Plant Project’s Board of Managment, member of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and joint-venture Power Machines-PTSC, on 07/09,  held a stakes-planting ceremony for Long Phu 1 Thermal power plant in Long Duc commune, Soc Trang Province.

The Long Phu 1 Thermal power plant project having the capacity of 1.200 MW is under management of Long Phu electricity center, comprising 2 turbines in Long Duc commune, Long Phu district, Soc Trang Province.
It is one of nation’s key project belonging to Power Strategy 7 approved by the Goverment. The first turbine is scheduled to be operational in 2018 and the second to go into service in 2019.

The Long Phu Power Center was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2007 with the total capacity of 4,400 MW. It is the big Power Center, once in operation, it is expected to contribute to not only ensuring national energy security but also economic transfer of Soc Trang province in particular and Southest region in general.

Mr.Nguyen Hung Dung, Petro Vietnam Deputy General Director, pledged to Board of management and Joint venture Power Machines-PTSC optimal conditions and sufficient capital for the project.

Mr.Dung also asked project contractors to ensure its progress and safety as well as environmental protection during both construction and operation.
