JAPAN BUSINESS WANTING TO INVEST IN TUNA PROCEEDING IN PHU YEN

Phu Yen’s People’s Committee just worked with Hokugan CO Ltd (Japan) about investing tuna- proceeding, providing net and instructing fishing techniques for fishermen.
Mr. Kawahira Manabu, Director of Hokugan CO Ltd expressed his expectation to build a tuna-proceeding and other sea- products factory with the capacity of 1.800 tons/month in Dong Tac fishing port (Tuy Hoa city).
After collecting ideas from relevant parties including: Hokugan CO Ltd, authorities from departments, bureaus, Phu Yen’s Permanent Vice Chairman Le Van Truc said that Phu Yen would be focusing on site clearing in 3 months to meet requirement from the company.
The Japanese company agreed with this solution and the 2 sides would continue to exchange information during that time in order to fasten the project progress.
In the means time Hokugan CO Ltd would support 5 cuttle-fishing kits for Ward 6’s fishermen (Tuy Hoa city) and soon sent specialists to guide techniques for fishermen.
Mr Le Van Truc revealed that Phu Yen had exploited 6.000 tons of tuna and 3.000 tons of cuttle-fish each year. If Japan was willing to transfer their technology and open market to Viet Nam, the capacity of exploitation would be higher and the quality would be better.
According to Phu Yen Planning and Investment Department, Hokugan CO Ltd from 9/2014 had planned to build a tuna-and other sea-products proceeding factory in Dong Tac area covering over 16.000 m2. In addition, they also wanted to build a high-quality ice house for better sea-foods preservation.
